| Prior to joining Southern Cross
University in 1991, Peter had 18 years management experience
in public and private sector organisations, most recently as
Business Manager with a large public mining company. Previously,
he worked as an industrial advocate and organisational analyst
within New South Wales Government organisations.Peter holds
a Bachelor of Business degree from the UTS and a Master of Business
degree from UNE and a PhD in the area of managerial and organisational
performance. He has been and continues to be involved in consultancy
with a number of national and smaller organisations in the areas
of leadership/management and organisational development |

Neil Leiper

| Neil Leiper is Professor of Tourism
Managemement in the Business Division at Southern Cross University,
where he teaches several subjects in Tourism and in Strategic
Management, and also supervises post-graduate research students.
He has two degrees from University of NSW and a PhD from Massey
University. He is on the editorial boards for six international
research journals. His most recent book is Tourism Management,
2nd edition, Pearson Education 2003. |
Prof Phil Neck

| Philip Neck was appointed Professor
of International Management and Development at Southern Cross
University, NSW in 1994 and continues to serve the Graduate
College of Management as an Adjunct Professor based at the Tweed
Gold Coast Centre. He has experience in senior research management
positions in private industry, universities and for international
agencies, including the United Nations International Labour
Organisation and the World Bank. His research interests include:
Management Consulting, Entrepreneurship, Productivity, Strategic
Management and Small Enterprise Development. He is currently
Senior Adviser (Management) and Chairman of the Editorial Board
for the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises based
in India and is the Australian Co-ordinator for the World Academy
of Productivity Science based in Canada. |
Prof Don Scott

| Don Scott is Professor of Management
in the School of Commerce and Management at Southern Cross University
where he lectures in Strategic Management, International Management,
Marketing and Research Methods. His career has encompassed 22
years in business where he has held positions of technical manager,
marketing director and managing director in multi-national businesses
and 16 years in academe. He has been involved with postgraduate
and undergraduate programmes at several different universities
in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. He has published
numerous articles in international journals, in several different
fields and has consulted to a number of large businesses and
government organisations on strategic management, marketing
and forecasting. |

of Finance at the University of Newcastle where he has served
as Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance and Dean
of the Faculty of Economics and Commerce. He is a Fellow of
CPA Australia and a Senior Associate of the Australasian Institute
of Banking and Finance. His work has been accepted for publication
in a wide range of journals including The Journal of Futures
Markets, Economica and the Journal of Banking and Finance. |

| Associate Professor Allan Ellis
teachers post graduate coursework units in Adult Learning,
Educational Technology, and Networked Learning and supervises
Masters, DBA and PhD students. His current research interests
are in the development of networked learning systems based on
Internet and WWW technologies. This includes the underlying
computer architecture and software as well as the psychological
and instructional factors involved in the design and delivery
of Web-based courseware in university, industry and community
settings. He has published over 50 refereed book chapters, journal
articles and conference papers and is currently President of

Assoc Prof Michael Evans

| Michael Evans is an Associate
Professor in Accounting and Finance in and Director of the Graduate
College of Management at Southern Cross University in Australia.
He teaches and researches in accounting, finance, management
and strategic control, and strategic management in the MBA program
and the executive development programs offered by the College.
He has teaching experience across Australia, in Asia and in
Europe through the Helsinki School of Economics. Michael has
a wide range of business experience, with skills in managing,
consulting, teaching and research. His current research focuses
on venture capital, initial public offerings of shares, and
privatisation with emphasis on strategies for value creation
within organisations. |
Dr Jennifer Harrison

| Dr Jennifer Harrison lectures
in the School of Commerce and Management at Southern Cross University
and has taught in the areas of accounting, finance, economics
and research methods. Jennifer obtained her undergraduate degree
from Southern Cross University with first class honours and
was awarded the University Medal. Her recently completed PhD
research, undertaken through the University of New England,
compared universalistic, contingency and configurational theories
of information use in small service firms. As methodological
consultant and data analyst, Jennifer has been actively involved
in a wide range of consulting projects covering banking, agricultural
and sporting industries. |
Dr Nerilee Hing

Dr Nerilee Hing (B.Bus.
Tourism, M.App.Sc., Ph D Gambling Studies) is a Senior Lecturer
with the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Southern
Cross University. Her teaching relates to food and beverage
management, strategic management, entrepreneurship, gambling,
and club management. She is on editorial boards for the International
Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and the International
Gambling Studies journal. Nerilee has published widely in tourism
and hospitality journals and has conducted numerous consulting
and research projects for industry. She is an active researcher
into gambling-related issues, principally focusing on responsible
provision of gambling and the management of problem
gambling. |
Prof Ken Parry

| Ken Parry is a Professor of Management
in the Graduate School of Management at Griffith University.
Prior to this position he was Director of the Centre for the
Study of Leadership at Victoria University of Wellington, New
Zealand. The Centre is a joint venture with the New Zealand
College of Management. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute
of Management and of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Ken has authored numerous refereed publications, conference
papers and professional articles and reports on leadership,
HRM and organisational behaviour. Prior to entering academia,
Ken worked for 9 years in private industry with the Hunter Douglas
group of companies as an inventory manager in the manufacturing
sector. |
Prof Philip Poh

| Professor Poh is an adjunct Professor
of Southern Cross University and the current chief executive
of the Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management.
He is the Editorial Advisor to the World Markets Research Centre,
which publishes the Global Business Briefings. Dr Poh is the
Vice-Chairman of the World Purchasing Research Institute and
has been a board member of the International Federation of Purchasing
and Materials Management since 1997. Dr Poh is a renowned academic
researcher and is currently an External Examiner at the University
of Wales (UK). He had previously served on the ISO Certification
Council at the International Standards Certification. |
Assoc Prof Elisabeth Porter

| Associate Professor Elisabeth
Porter is editor of Ethic Conflict Research Digest. She
has taught Politics, Sociology and Women's Studies in Northern
Ireland and in three Australian Universities. She has three
books, Feminist Perspectives on Ethics (1999), Building Good
Families in a Changing World (1995), and Women and Moral Identity
(1991). Additionally, she has published chapters, articles and
reports in the areas of feminist political theory, citizenship,
the challenges of dialogue across difference, and women, peace
and conflict zones. |
Assoc Prof Shankar Shankaran

| Shankar comes to academia with more than
thirty years of experience in management positions in Asia,
the Middle East and Austrlaia. His doctoral research was an
action research study of Management Learning in a Japanese MNC
in Singapore where he was a Director. He is the Director of
Postgraduate Studies and Research at the Graduate College of
Management and the College of Action Research, the academic
coordinator for the IT specialization for the MBA courses and
member of the Management Committee of the Aged Services Learning
and Research Collaboration at SCU.Shankar teaches knowledge
management, project management, management information systems
and supervises PhD, DBA and Masters students in his areas of
teaching and research. Shankar has presented and published refereed
papers, acts a doctoral examiner for several Universities in
Australia, peer reviews papers for journal and conferences and
is on the editorial board of the Action Research International
and the editorial advisory board of the Action Research Journal
published by Sage. |
Assoc Prof Keith Sloan

Keith Sloan is an associate professor
in the School of Commerce and Management at Southern Cross University.
His research has an emphasis on logistics and supply chain innovation,
small business and entrepreneurship. This includes influencing
the establishment of the World Purchasing Research Institute
that provides development and support of research and new courses
in logistics and supply chain management.
His other teaching and research interests range from environmental
management and the recreation use of national parks to the evolution
and operation of international financial markets. He also has
a keen interest in investment appraisal and funds management.

Dr Terry Sloan

Dr Sloan is a Senior Lecturer
in the School of Management, College of Law & Business,
University of Western Sydney, Australia.
Dr Sloan' s major areas of research are manufacturing management,
quality management, technology management, business communications
and networking. Recent research has concentrated on quality
management with an emphasis on statistical quality control and
manufacturing management. Terry has also undertaken several
consulting projects in the areas of business communications/training
and quality systems development for both manufacturing and service
industries. |
Emeritus Prof Sandra Speedy

| Sandra Speedy is an Emeritus
Professor of Southern Cross University. Her experience in the
higher education sector spans 26 years, teaching, publishing,
researching and administering a range of educational programs
at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is a member of
the Australian Psychological Society, registered with the New
South Wales Psychologists' Registration Board; and a Fellow
of the College of Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Nurses.Her
current research interests include leadership, particularly
that which is dysfunctional, women in management, organisational
cultures and organisational change, power and politics within
organisations, the ethical dimensions of organisations; bullying
behaviour and emotions in organisations. |
Dr Carmen Tideswell

| Carmen Tideswell is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing
in the Graduate College of Management at Southern Cross University.
She currently teaches in the areas of marketing; services marketing
and retail marketing and management. She has taught in, and
managed, academic programs in universities over the past ten
years in marketing, tourism, hospitality, business planning
and entrepreneurship. Her PhD was in tourism marketing. Her
industry experience has included marketing positions in the
hotel industry and consulting projects for the tourism and hospitality
industry. Her current research interests include marketing and
consumer behaviour issues, particularly relating to consumer
loyalty; tourism marketing; and consumer online shopping behaviour.

Mr Peter Vitartas

| Peter Vitartas is a marketing lecturer in the School of Commerce and Management at Southern Cross University. His research interests are in the areas of consumer behaviour, marketing research, non-profit and services marketing and community and economic development. Peter's PhD investigated patterns of time use and media consumption. He has a Master of Business by research in which he investigated changes in the level of perceived risk across the goods-service continuum and an undergraduate degree in marketing. Prior to joining Southern Cross University Peter worked in marketing and product management for both consumer and industrial companies in Australian and England. |
Prof Robert Waldersee

| Robert Waldersee is Professor of Management
at Queensland University of Technology. Previously he was Director
of the Australian Centre in Strategic Management (ACSM) in the
School of Management, Faculty of Business at QUT and research
fellow at the Australian Graduate School of Management. He completed
his PhD studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA.
Robert's research work in the US and Australia has focused on
the leadership of knowledge and service organisations undergoing
change. He has published numerous chapters, and papers in international
journals on leadership and the management of service quality.
Robert has consulted on strategic leadership and change to several
international organisations in Australia and in the United States
(for example, Southern Pacific Hotels, Telstra, Fairfax, Australian
College of Health Services Executives, Burger King), as well
as to Federal and State government agencies (for example, RAAF,
National Industry Extension Service, Department of Primary Industries
and Energy). |
Assoc Prof Michelle Wallace

| Michelle Wallace has had thirty years continuous
experience in education and human resource development. Michelle's
recent research has encompassed human resource development and
labour market issues, aged services needs in relation to regional
and rural Australia, organisational change in local government,
women in management, career development of professionals and
cross cultural teaching and learning. |
Dr Jun Xu

| Dr Xu is a lecturer of information systems
in the Graduate College of Management at the Southern Cross
University, Australia. Jun earned his Bachelor of Engineering
(1992) from University of Petroleum, China, and received his
MBA (1999) and PhD (2003) degrees from Curtin University of
Technology, Australia. He has various working experience in
teaching, research, IT support, administration, sales and management
in Australia and Asian countries. His research interests are
generally in Knowledge Management & Knowledge Management Systems,
Diffusion of IS/IT, Electronic Business/Electronic Commerce,
